How to Donate

From September 1-30, bring a new pair of shoes, boots, or socks to Fox Chevrolet in Rochester Hills, and help kids who have been going without!

Every child needs a good pair of sneakers and they are always in-demand. We are grateful for all new shoe donations, regardless of brand, style, or size.

If you can't stop by Fox Chevrolet, Lace Up Detroit buys at wholesale, so a $25 donation puts a brand new pair of shoes on a child in need. They are an all-volunteer 501(c)(3), which means your money buys shoes and nothing else.

Most Needed Sizes:
Youth 2-6  |  Women's 7-12  |  Men's 7-14

Preferred Brands:
Nike, Adidas, New Balance, Under Armour, Puma, Vans

Socks are always needed too, and they're the one thing almost nobody thinks to donate.

All shoes collected through this drive will be distributed to low-income children and youth experiencing homelessness in Southeast Michigan. All kids deserve to start the school year feeling prepared and confident. For all that the academic and social year brings, this can be a challenge for every child. Did you know that worn shoes are one of the first outward indicators of poverty? And that teachers often spend their own hard-earned money on shoes for kids in their classes? New, well-fitting shoes not only allow impoverished kids to look indistinguishable from their peers, but also allow them to fully engage in all school activities. With new shoes they can comfortably participate in gym class or after-school sports teams without feeling self-conscious or insecure. This shoe drive is about providing kids with a tool in their toolbox for confidence and success. It is about helping them feel equal.
